Yes gradually....we destroyed their country and pulling out immediately would leave it in ruins after we created the mess...however it is necessary to pull out so the government should take out a set number of troops on normal basis and be completely withdrawn within a year but to help clean up the mess, the US should send representatives there...not station troops

Iraq has absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. I would sincerely hope that most people knew this the first time that they had heard that notion to begin with... There was not a single Iraqi on any of those planes. Almost all of them were Saudi Arabian and one or two of them were Pakistani. We all know why we are occupying Iraq/Afghanistan and not Saudi Arabia - at least, I hope most of you do. Of course, we should pull out of Iraq as well as Afghanistan - we should never have invaded to begin with. These countries have nothing to do with anything. It's all an effort to flex some muscle so that the President can pretend he actually accomplished something. It is quite sad that it has taken so many years for only 51% of our government to realize this and take action. Even if you were to support such an action, it is extremely unsound to believe that a country such as ours could actually contain Iraq - a place that has experienced constant warfare for centuries. There should be a Historian sitting next to every General in the US Military. Who are we to think that we could handle this any differently from the long list of countries that came before us?

Do you think US troops can stay in Iraq for the next 25 years?
Because that's how long for the Iraqi National Govt. to take control of Iraq.

This is what my history teacher told our class(he's is so friggin hott!!). He said that it wouldn't be a good choice 2 bring the troops back because we have to finish what we started. It's not over yet.If we stop now, they will come over here and destroy even more important building that make the U.S. a strong nation. Just predicting, the terrorists might try to kill all the people working for the Gov. then the CIA,SWAT TEAM,& all them. Then, they're going to help and if they get killed then they will take over the country and this will not be a Democracy anymore and they will have Dictatorship here. It's not meant to be like that.

If we decide to pull out now, it'll be Vietnam all over again. Americana can't fight a long war anymore...the public just doesn't have the patience. This is basically Vietnamization, and if we suddenly pull out, I'm pretty sure the government we worked hard to establish will crumble because it isn't mature enough to handle the load by itself. The enemy is determined and they will not let up. We leave and we'll look like losers to a bunch of ragtag terrorists.

That means we abandon our policy of global domination. Can you really believe that what the media uses as excuses for our attack and occupation of Iraq? Explanations are:
- Get rid of a vicious dictator.
- Bring democracy and freedom to the people of Iraq.
- Protect our country from WMD located in the Middle East.
Or could there be other motivations? Perhaps economic domination of the world? Greed?

No. Plain and simple, right now we are fighting the war on their soil. If we pull the troops out of there, then we are going on the defencive and basically inviting them to bring the war to us on our soil, and there will be more deaths on our side. People tend to forget, we have less casualties of war for the duration of this war than any other war in our history save the cold war. but the biggest death toll on our side happened on our soil when planes hit the towers in NY. Do we want that to happen, The enemy doesn't care about us as civilians they will plant bombs anywhere, airplanes, airports, huge buildings, they have no regard for human life especially American life. We didn't go over there and blow up the Mosque, but they wouldn't care. We need to keep the killing on their soil for our civilians sake.

Absolutely. The war has deteriorated into a Civil War with our brave troops caught in the middle. How many more deaths and amputees does Bush want?
