I'm not quite sure what you mean by definision on the number line..... Do you mean "notation" on the number line?
x can be 4 or -4. So, there will be a black dot right on 4 and -4 on the number line.

What do you mean by the number line?
Are you talking about the absolute value? Numbers in the absolute value can be either +ve or -ve. But when they come out of the absolute value they would only be +ve.
