It has become clear to me many of you do not understand how Oil and terrorism are interlinked, so I hope this article will help you get a better understanding of geo politics of oil pricing.

Ever since World War II, the giant U.S. military-industrial complex realized how profitable war could be. So they bought up all the politicians, hired pricey lobbyists, and formed special interest groups to encourage and promote war. Thus, the U.S. was involved in the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam; and Desert Storm. Companies like McDonnell-Douglass, Lockheed-Martin, Sikorsky, General Motors, and a host of others have made BILLIONS from war.
The same goes for OIL. Those who control all that cheap, easily-accessible OIL swimming underneath Iraq and Iran's sands are destined to become obscenely wealthy. So, with China and other countries craving more oil for their own economies, the U.S. had to stage 'terrorist' attacks as an inane excuse to unconstitutionally and illegally invade Iraq and gain control of all that OIL. If this 'war' is about bringing democracy to Iraq, WHY is the U.S. building the largest embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad, overlooking the 'new' puppet Iraqi government installed by the Bush administration?
We will be in Iraq until we've sucked every drop of OIL out of that land. Same goes for Iran: as soon as the evil Bush administration can come up with a plausible excuse that 'ditto heads' will 'buy' ('weapons of mass destruction' isn't going to work a second time), Bush will unconstitutionally and illegally invade Iran so the U.S. can control the flow of all of that nation's OIL. Look for the Bush administration to stage another 'terrorist attack' this spring or summer - this time somewhere in the Midwest (perhaps Chicago or St. Louis). They will claim the attack was orchestrated by Iranian terrorists, which will give justification for attacking that nation. We're in Iraq - and we'll soon be in Iran - for only two reasons: OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. -RKO- 04/27/07

Everytime an American fills up their gas tank they are supporting the war on terror. It Americans weren't so addicted to oil the middle east oil countries (& US oil companies) wouldn't make the money that eventually gets to the terrorists. Notice how Al Qaeda really didn't do anything major when oil prices were at $10 a barrel in the late 80s early 90s? It was only when prices started to go way up in the 1993 & beyond that Al Qaeda really got bold (& US oil companies started getting rich).

ummm....terrorism affects the price of crude oil by the barrel on a daily basis. Crude oil is an EXPENSE for American oil companies who refine it into gasoline. More expensive raw materials equal more expensive finished products. If you watch their MARGINS, you'll see they remain pretty steady...terrorism or no. Software and drug companies have a MUCH higher markup than oil companies. Try again.

I do. If the Straits of Hermoz get clogged with sunken tankers - oil prices go to $100 on crude.. No new refineries so gas price goes up each spring. Manipulators fart and gas goes up.
