http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/supernova.html lists recent supernova discoveries with a very brief information summary. The official information source for astronomical discoveries is The Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams (CBAT), which publishes the information via International Astronomical Union Circulars (IAUCs). You can find them at http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/cbat.html . This is a subscription service and rather pricey for personal use, but if you have access to a university network you may be able to get them there.

The more easily observed supernovae may get reported on sites such as http://www.space.com/ or http://www.skytonight.com/ , or various discussion forums.

Try http://www.space.com and http://www.badastronomy.com for the latest space updates. For supernova in particular, try http://www.rochesterastronomy.org/snimages/. If you mean the Australian priest, he's found quite a few supernova. Can't recall his name, but if you know it, you can search the Rochester site for more info. Oh, and there's also ATEL (astronomy telegram) site http://www.astronomerstelegram.org/ .
