If not why not and woukd you ever consider an African American Dr. if opted? Just a thought I'm not being racist. I don't mean to offend anyone.

I never said it MATTERED I asked because of the way things are in the world. I don't see color until things are presented to me as black/white issue.

I did until two years ago, when I moved. (She's a great doctor, but not quite worth driving two hours to see.)

I visit a Jewish M.D. that is into integrative medicine(both traditional as well as natural medicine) I would certainly opt for a Black doctor if he was of the same mind as my current doctor. I am not Jewish by the way...

I do. He's probably in his late 30's and a very good doctor. Also, the hospital I work at the 2 Pediatric Intensivists are black and also very educated.

I think that most people would not really care what their doctor looked like IF they were professional in manner made sense and took care of the reason for the visit. That being said, I cannot recall the last time I saw a Black doctor, I have seen many Asians, Indians ( from India), and of course many whites. Male and female.

well i dont have an african american dr., my doctor is japanese american.
its not that i dont want an african american dr but just dont know of any close to where i live =]

Half Eastern Cherokee, half Irish, and my doctor is Kannada (a South Indian ethnicity, he's from Karnataka state originally.) I could care less if he was a green monster, to tell you the truth.

Mine is Itallian, but Yes I would have an African Americna Dr. What do I care? As long as I get good care I don't care who gives it to me

My pediatrician in African American and my kids both love him to death...he is the best for the job...i picked him because of the response i have gotten from many other friends who chose him as a pediatrician...FYI i am Caucasian.. :)

I had an African American doctor, she was great. I moved to another state and lost touch.

I'm sorry to say that I do not, but I would be happy if I did. You just never know with, well...I've been thru a lot with you know who so a skilled and decent African American dr. would be most welcome.
