I ran a 6.4 and that is crap. Is there any way to lower it by a second ASAP. It isn't a weight problem because i weigh 97.4.

There is no ASAP way to drop a second off your 40 time. All of working out in the world isn't going to drop your 40 time by 1 second but you do have one salvation, you are only 13. Your body is just now starting to develope fully. Give yourself another year maybe two and you'll see that 1 second difference

Actually its not an age problem. Also weight has nothing to do with it either. Work out your legs with out alot of reps. also dont do alot of jogging if you run do sprints. work out your abs and do alot of stretching. Oh and also your stance and your start have alot to do with what time you get. I can't really explain a good stance in words but im sure you can get someone to show you... but i must say 6.4 is pretty bad so no matter how much you try dont expect to be to be getting that much better.

First make sure you are starting off in a sprinters stance. Look for an image if you don't know what it is. The quicker you move your arms the faster your legs will move. That's all you can do for immediate results. For the future work out your legs, keep sprinting, and stretch well.

Your 13 your speed increases with age and time in the weight room doing thins like cleans, good for explosiveness and squats, good for power. Don't stop there, watch and learn from track runners, watch who they come out of the blocks and build into sprint. Then run sprints until you feel more comfortable.

One of the biggest keys to speed is strong hamstrings. A glute-ham machine would be a big help to you. When you lift weights and you are doing squats, make sure you go below parallel to really get your hamstrings involved as well.

Yea, that is crap. Just work on sprints and especially your start, a fast start is key to a fast time.
