i just got an ipod video today. when i got it, it was already kinda charged. i listened to it for like 1 hour. now i want to charge it again. i have it plugged into the USB, and the battery on the top right of the screen has the little lightening strike that means it's charging. is that all i do? there is something that says "do not disconnect" with a circle w/ a line through it. is this right?

Yeah, that's pretty much it. When the lightning bolt changes to a two-prong electrical plug, that means it has finished charging. If you click the eject button in iTunes, the iPod will dismount from your computer, but will still continue to draw power through the sync cable for charging.

Alternately, you could get an AC/USB converter and charge it directly from the wall.

after you plug the usb into the computer and the "do not disconnect" comes up.. if your itunes doesn't automatically start up open it up and hit the eject button on itunes. This will eject your ipod from transferring any music to it, but will allow it to still charge and you can still listen to it while its charging. (took me a little while to figure out my ipod too)

Yes, you did just right. When the little lightning strike icon doesn't move no more, it means it's fully charged. The "do not disconnect" message you see there means it's updating. =)

yeap, your charging..and in order to get that do not disconnect sign to go away so you can disconnect you must click the little eject button to the right of your ipod icon in itunes.

isnt that a superior element? it would want to say that it really is charging and may want to easily be a malfunction and under no circumstances be charging i might want to take it to the apple keep and performance it appeared at solid success with it :)
