No! As Descartes suggested, "I think, therefore I am" .. there's nothing there about feeling.
Am interesting thing that occurred this past week, Stephen Hawking who is confined to a wheelchair and is totally immobilized, except for his facial muscles, went up in an airplane that simulated weightlessness. It was done so that he could, for a few seconds or minutes, live in an environment without gravity and therefore escape the limitations of his body.
Live is all about the mind, not the body. Even the greatest sex organ is the mind, not the ... well, you know. When one can get past the physical then they truly begin to live.

Eyes, taste buds, noses and ears work when people are numb. If you mean nothing works and they're dead but still conscious, I'm pretty sure the feeling they didn't exist physically would be justified.

As long as they had their other senses, they'd be okay. but if they were unable to see, smell, taste, or hear, they'd have what's called sensory deprivation, and the contradition of the mind's existence with the body's lack of sense would give them a nervous breakdown! So, in a way, yeah.

Check with the Psychology Dept of your local university and ask if they have a "floatation tank" or know of one at a spa or health club in your area. Try it out and let us all know. It is supposed to be a wild trip. Mikey Jackson used to sleep in one ... hmmm, makes me wonder if they ARE safe!?!?
