We are the people and this is our Land; Along both sides of the border;, ''there is a growing fusion, a reviving of connections. Southwest Chicanos and Northern-Mexicanos are becoming one people again.''
They must become one people again, and independent, because they ''have been ruled by three empires, Spain, Mexico, and the United States. Under all three systems, we have failed to achieve self-determination. We are the people!

Mexicans and Mexican-Americans rightly state that the land was taken from Mexico. That is true. However, Mexico and before it, Spain, took it from the native-Americans. The claim is basically meaningless. However, population demographics being what they are, the long-time Mexican dream of retaking Aztlan seems like it is historically inevitable. At least culturally and lingustically, the Southwest will be essentially Mexican in a century or less. Perhaps the best of the Anglo world (Anglo-Saxon common law, capitalism, etc) will combine with the best of Mexican culture (family and community dedication), and a new, better society will develop. I certainly hope so.

With the changing demograph, in about 100 years the Southwest will be Mexico once again. History is a continuous thing and wars lead one into another even many years apart. Let us hope reconquista is by fair vote instead of another go-round..

There is no such thing.I lived on the border for 10 long years. Mexico cannot take care of the land they have now.Why would they want more beside gluttony. You on some kind of Medication?

every major society has taken land by force. by war or purchase, since over 2000 yrs..
so at what point do want return back to the original population.
when Germany's unconditional surrender means that winners could have divided up their land.
that what happens in war .
it is ,what it's is.

you give mexico back to spain and then we will give the southwest back to mexico..
