so they evolved more and turned darker if you will? If this is true, it proves the theory that racists are idiots. One has no control over color, its merely a factor of their environment. If any qualms are to be had, it should be over the other's culture correct?

Yep of course.

Most intelligent people realize this at this point in time. There used to be scientific theories and practices used to categorize people. They used skin color, the shape and size of the nose, hair texture etc to split people into races.

Problem is they began to see that some "white" individuals had noses that really placed them into another category, or "black" individuals who had a hair texture more characteristic of another.

Today's modern thinkers understand that skin is only so thick, the biological difference stops after that tiny thickness. The darkness or lightness of your skin is merely a biological adaption of the body to handle the amount of sun one gets at certain latitudes.

The more northern the individual/group, the lighter their skin had to be to absorb as much Vitamin D as the body could with the "little" amounts of sunlight that area got. The closer to the equator an individual/group got the darker their skin got to protect their body from the massive amounts of UV.

Intelligent, reasonable people understand that if you were to theoretically of course skin everyone, you really couldn't tell a difference. The real differences come in the culture.

The closer to the equator, the darker the skin. It is totally and completely an adaptation to the amount of sun you are getting, actually a way of regulating the amount of vitamin D absorbed by your body. And it obviously took many generations for people with a favorable skin color to be selected in various climates. In the last few hundred years however, once we learned to cross the world by ship and now by airplane, we have light skinned people living in Australia where they aren't well suited, and dark-skinned people in Detroit and Chicago. But since we stay indoors so much nowadays, we can survive in these unfavorable climates no matter what color we are.

Correct,

The color of our skin came about as an evolutionary thing. People that live in the north or colder climates tend to be whiter. People in sunny areas tend to be darker to protect them from the sun. IS all a matter of survival. The traits that allow you to survive better are the ones that would usually get passed simply because the other traits would die out. Now a days this might be different because we are able to survive easier.

I would believe this. I work at company that has a lot of
Engineers from India, you can almost tell which area of
India they were from by the darkness of their skin, the
further south the darker the complection.

We shouldn't even have qualms over their culture as long
as they are not trying to get us to adapt to theirs, if they
are here in America then adapt to the American culture.

I am not speaking of just the people from India, I am speaking
of all immigrants

According to an episode of Oprah I saw (there was a doctor on there saying this) African Americans have dark skin because of the fact that they their ancestors come from Africa. African Americans naturally have a ridiculous amount of SPF in their skin that makes their skin darker. They had to develop this due to the fact the Africa is so sunny and hot. White people (Europeans) did not need to develop that because Europe is not as hot as Africa. So yes, depending on where your ancestors came from and the weather there that is what determines the color of your ancestors skin which determines the color of your skin. And yes, racism is retarded.

You're right, but you actually have it backwards. The origin of the species seems to have been closer to the equator in Africa. As we spread north, our skins lightened...but you've got it. If we Caucasians stay in the lower lats long enough, we're going to get darker than our European ancestors, too. I guess all of the white supremacists should move to Canada to preserve their "purity"...

Skin color is true but there are also other distinguishing characteristics that a specific group usually has. I think rascists do hate the others culture.

Actually it goes deeper than that.
Some people believe it goes all the way back to Genesis. When Cain slew his brother Abel he was cursed by God and shunned to wander in the desert that blackened his skin and thus the "Mark of Cain" Genetically speaking you are correct though.
