i think all major things happen for a reason, but not minor things, like if i decided to just pick up the pen in front of me for a second and put it down in the same spot, it wouldn't affect anyone.

Things happen. Whether we chose it through our actions, or not. Either we can "give" a reason for why it happened, or maybe there is no reason really....if we don't choose to give a reason or don't understand why it happened. Everything Can have a reason if we look for it.

If I have a heartbreak, I might think it's so unfair since I never did anything wrong and have been the best to the person. I might not give it a reason why it happened. But if I think, that maybe this heartbreak has happened because I need to be made aware of certain things in me, or the other person, or my life in general and my choices, or simply to understand myself better....or perhaps the reason was to make the guy learn a lesson about life and himself, then yes, I have given it a reason!

So I really think.....it depends on us. Things happen to everyone. But it won't have a reason until we choose to give it one. I do believe opportunties to learn are simply everywhere! Whereever you go, you will find a path to somewhere. Don't know if I am making sense....

Well, this is just my personal perspective...

Yes. Things as trivial as coughing or pausing only a second. One day, when I was about seven, I was riding my bike with some neighborhood kids and my brothers. They were older and faster than I. They crossed the street and yelled for me to stop. I paused, only for a moment, and went on. Just as I passed, a car went by, nearly clipping my back tire. It didn't touch me, but if I would have never stopped, I could have died. So yes, I strongly believe, with a fire that burns in me, that everything happens for a reason.

It depends on what you mean by reason. If you mean coincidence, no. Example, someone may say "I had that automobile wreck for a reason, I never would of met my husband if he didn't stop to help." That kind of reason does not happen. Someone else may say "I wrecked my car because I swerved to miss a rabbit and lost traction on the gravel." In my opinion that is a valid reason and everything does happen for those sorts of reasons.

I believes everything does happen for a reason, We all are predestand. by a higher being, and our lives have already been fastioned. This is only my reasoning, If you ever noticed, you fall into a situation that looks hopeless, but you put your whole being into finding a solution and you do find it, It's all about faith..

No. I could pick up that pencil and put it back down, and it would have no affect on my life at all. I could pause this song for a moment, I chose to do it, no one made me, I didn't do it for any particular reason.

The only reason anything happens is because it was caused by something else.

No.

This is the attempt of our species to give meaning to an X, where none actually exists. These are interpretations that we make and often we are wrong.
