With the looming May 15 deadline, what does the future of internet radio look like to you?

www.savenetradio.org
Due to the support of hundreds of thousands of listeners, a bill (Internet Radio Equality Act, H.R. 2060) has been proposed that could save it. With only 2 weeks to go, what do you see happening?

I'm usually optimistic, so I'm pulling for the good guys on this one.

I'm a huge fan of (and contributor to) www.radioparadise.com and am outraged at the proposed tariffs to be unfairly imposed on internet radio that other radio conglomerates like Clear Channel don't have pay! I have contacted my congressman on this issue and hope everyone can at the very least sign the petition at www.savenetradio.org, or better yet, contact their own reps. Even if you don't listen to internet radio, in the name of fair play, please support this bill. Thanks!

Well, if the bill passes then it would only effect the commercial internet radio stations. I mean by that, the internet radio stations located in the united states that want to stay legal will cooperate and stop broadcasting music on their radio. However, the people that don't want to cooperate with the law, or are in other countries, then that would be different. I would think that it wouldn't effect the illegal internet radio stations, however I could be wrong.

nicely widespread radio isn't massive..... satellite tv for pc radio isn't massive.... Why would you think of information superhighway radio would be massive? Its been out very virtually 10 yrs and nevertheless in no way has boomed. What does growth? Tapes, CD's, and so on. Why? reason human beings will pay attention to the right music they desire to, Radio can not do this. Its why the iPod has boomed and not the hassle-loose radio.

Internet radio has no future. It is a fixed medium in a society that demands mobility. Cars move. Computers stay fixed

I see RIAA will have their way for now and Internet radio business will slow down as a result. Yet, once they realize how much business they are losing, they will change it back.
