I tell you what, I just watched a marathon on this show called Snapped on the Oxygen channel and after watching that I understand why your brothers boss told him that. Money changes things and even though he loves and trusts her he still needs to be careful. They had the sweetest ladies, I mean Martha Stewart, June cleaver, carol Brady type women that killed their spouses for money, I was in shock-I would have never believed it but I saw it with my own eyes. Some even paid perfect strangers to come into the house and kill the spouse for the money. He needs to be careful and she should just know that she would be taken care of in the event something should happen to him. This is crazy but men have to protect themselves too. I agree with the boss, don't tell her.

I used to be in the life insurance industry & yes the spouse needs to know about the policy. How else would they collect on it if they don't know about it? The beneficiary has to notify the insurance company in the event of a death so they can collect the face amount. Maybe the boss was just joking...

Yes, I would tell my husband. Why not? I don't think my husband would want to kill me. Does this boss suspect this? Or just suggesting? Kind of weird for the boss to say that though. It is not his business what your brother tells his wife.
Have a great night.

Absolutly!! He should tell her. He should list her as the benificary. And he should make sure she has a copy of it. Sounds like the boss is kinda shady. He's thinking if she dosen't know about it the company might not have to pay if something does happen to him.

Yes. Obviously his boss is single and a moron.
Keeping secrets isn't good. Could always end in divorce. Why worry if he has a wife he can trust?

Unless the boss was making a not very funny joke, that sounds fishy to me. Of course he should tell his wife. I'm hoping he made her the beneficiary. If not, that too sounds fishy!

Maybe his boss does not trust his own wife and so he believes your brother's wife may have him "knocked off"-or whatever the phrase is, for the money.
There is no reason not to mention it. At least then she knows what she is entitled to if (heaven forbid) something does happen.

I would tell my hubby.
Sounds a little strange to me....is the wife the beneficiary or is the boss?

I would be inclined to agree with the boss. She doesn't need to know she can get 2 mil if he gets bumped off. Tell her you have 50 grand right now for insurance, if yoy die she will get the big money.

Of course. He's not married to his boss, it's none of his business what he tells his wife. Although, maybe he's seen women off his employees because they were worth the million dead? lol...scary
