Fear drives the human reace. Almost everything we have done that is written in the history books has been driven by fear. Everything from buying car insurance to the creation of the UN is driven by fear, fear of getting in a car accident or another world war. But it is the things that we do that are not driven by fear that are truly pleasing and completing. If one can get rid of his/her fears, stress and anxiety would be nonexistent. But as to whether life would be interesting...I don't think it would be. Part of the thrill of life is facing fears and overcoming them. If they were all overcome, what would we have to live for? What would we have to beat before we die?If all fears were gone, a huge slice of the human brain would be gone, the slice that has done the most for the human race throughout history. So no, life would not be interesting without fears. It would be pleasant and peaceful and stressless, but not at all interesting or exciting.

Sure. Just don't get rid of all of them. Some fears are good.

By keeping you on the alert, fear can save your life.

Imagine you're a soldier in a war. If you have no fear, you're going to run into the middle of the action with your machine gun blazing and eventually get shot and die because the odds are against you.

But if you have some fear, you will run into the middle of the action in a more thought out manner which, hopefully, will keep you alive longer.

Life is interesting either way but you'll find it much more interesting if you're alive!

No. Life would actually suck. If you feared nothing, skydiving and walking to school would be the same thing. Life would have no thrill for nothing would seem new or exciting. Life would be same old same old. Life without fear is life without a soul.

LIFE, itself, is interesting. There's never a dull moment. Having fears does not make your life. Instead, it makes your life a bit more complicated. LIFE can be interesting without the drama. LIFE can be interesting even when your fearless. Find something else that's interesting to do, such as traveling, reading, exploring, etc. LIFE is what you make it...and fear should not make your life.

As I conquer my own fears, I find life becoming even MORE intriguing. It is easier to relax and enjoy the moment....It is easier to allow myself to experience the pain of being alive more fully. I feel deeply empowered to think for myself, to ask questions that are difficult to answer--then try to answer them anyway.
As I conquer my own fears, I feel liberated. The TYRANT ain't dead yet, but he doesn't TERRIFY me like he once did. I may feel that familiar frisson of anxiety shooting through my guts, and I smile, knowing the old trickster can no longer fool me into buying his BS.
As you conquer your fears, Life will reveal itself to you in ways you never even imagined. Life will be far more than merely interesting....Life will be utterly fascinating.

No. In fact, I think it will be less interesting...It's the struggling with the fears that makes it exciting.

For me, it would, because, having a fear of puppets (shut up) I would be able to watch the Muppets again. But I can't get over it, so it's different.

Of course! Life and how interesting it may be isn't based on fear.

I dont see why life wouldnt be even MORE interesting because you would be able to do things you cannot do now because your fears hold you back. Pax - C
