Okay, I need detailed and informative opinions of why or why not we should be in Iraq. If we should keep the war going, why? If we should follow the Congressional agenda for withdrawal, why? If we pullout will it be a good thing or a bad thing? Explain what you think about this issue. I look forward to INFORMATIVE answers.

Thanks for the warm welcome, from your descriptions I think I'll feel right at home here. If you want to see some hateful, backbitting comments just look at the questions I've asked and answered in the Religion and Spirituality section, I'm no beginner when it comes to verbal abuse.

Welcome to politics. The group of people that come in here are not fun loving turn the other cheek Xians you are used to. We play hard ball here and we play to win.
We need to be in Iraq because we said we were going to be there until a democracy has been established and Iraq can stand on its own. This is what we said we would do, and it is what we need to do. To withdraw is to fail. To withdraw is to say that the Muslims are more powerful than the US. To withdraw is inviting the terrorists to follow us home and kill us right here. Yes, I know there are many people that say that the Muslims will not follow us home. But that is exactly what France said in 1960 when DeGalle announced that France was leaving Algeria. He admitted defeat, and said that the cost was too high and that the French would be safer if they left the Muslim nation and came home. Yosef Saadi and the FLN beat the french home and started the cafe wars killing 100s of 1,000s of French. The French are still dealing with terror attacks out of Algeria today. If they would have finished the job in 1960 we would not be in this war against terrorism now. 40 years later.

Some do not want to see Iraq turn into another Vietnam or WW3. Most of what is happening today was predicted in Intelligence hearing before Gulf 1. Why did one jerks father not take Saddam out? He had enough sense to realize amount of lives it would cost and can or worms it would open. If France help group of men over 200 years ago more than they did and occupied Philly how would they have been viewed. There must be thousands of more informative answer on this topic. Hope you will look fo them if truly interested.

Contrary to what the Bushies want you to believe we have never and will never have a good reason to be in Iraq. The Righties spout an excuse of “national security” but fail to consider that since the beginning of the Operation Iraqi Freedom, more Americans have died than in both the USS Cole bombing and the September 11 Attacks.
There are three undeniable reasons for this ‘war.’ One, if America can get itself snugly in the middle of the world oil trade it may be able to help end an economic recession brought on by yet another Republican President. Two, many considered the first Bush a failure for his unwillingness to finish the job in Iraq that he had started so Jr. must step in to finish of the job. Yet the final, and possibly the most depressing reason for this war was best said by author Arthur Goldberg. “America is not fighting to win a war. We are fighting to give an application to an old Greek proverb, which is that the purpose of war is not to annihilate an enemy but to get him to mend his ways. And we are confident we can get the enemy to mend his.”

You're really not going to get detailed and informative information here. I'd like to be wrong but I'm here a lot and it just isn't going to happen. I 'd look at web sites like Reason.com. They might have something that you seek. I hope I helped a little.

Good luck with that, Sean.
I think you'll find Politics even hotter than the deepest ring of Hell.
Most of the participants in here don't really seek answers and solutions; they just come to poke sticks in other people's eyes.

welcome to politics, but buckle your seatbelt, please. Yes, it is my belief we should have gone into Iraq, if nothing else than to stop Husseins murdering dictatorship. But I also believe the Iraqii people are deserving of freedom to run their country as they see fit. Pulling out right now would leave that country vulnerable to its enemies to say nothing of the inevitable surge in civilian attacks by the insurgents. Bless our military!

Welcome - you will find the same bickering and insulting here so you will be right at home. To make friends easily just start your questions with insults to CONS or LIBS, then slide into the real question.
