This doesn't make sense to me. It seems like you would need baby formula fairly quickly anyway.

I have not bought formula off the internet, but I definately would NOT do it. There are actually illegal baby formula rings. No joke. Search for news stories on the big news sites. They steal formula from stores. I can't remember exactly, but it seems to me they were tampering with the formula. This is your baby's health; just buy it from the store. If you are in a bad financial situation call your local health department for their women infants and childrens (WIC)programs. WIC will provide supplemental formula and baby food. Unless you purchase from a known reputable source, I would not purchase off ebay. And like someone else said the shipping is gonna be real expensive. You also have to worry about whether the formula is past the expiration date. There are several resources that are available for help. The Jaycees group in your area may run a baby pantry. Also, local churches, social services could tell you where baby pantries are in your area; you can also go onto formula websites sometimes and request free samples and coupons, same with babyfood. I hope this helps. Take care.

Not only have I bought formula on eBay, I've also sold it. I bought Kirkland formula for my baby because it is the brand that we were choosing to use (until we found out it was aggravating her eczema and had to switch to soy). It was the exact same stuff that was in the store, and still all factory sealed.

The stuff that I'm currently selling was some that was on clearance at Walmart. It was a specially packaged two pack that wasn't selling well so they put it on clearance for a high percentage off the regular price. So I can certify that what I'm selling is exactly what is sold in a store. Here's a link in case what you're looking for is Similac Advance http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=001&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT&viewitem=&item=110120689965&rd=1&rd=1 .

And a lot of what you see on ebay is stuff that was sent to people directly from the formula company as a sample. And I know that there are other people who get it free through WIC and then sell it on ebay (welfare fraud!).

And I think that most people who sell on eBay are very concerned about their seller reputation and work hard to list and sell their items accurately and get positive feedback.

I haven't bought formula off of ebay but if I found a very good deal on it I would...we have to pay $25 a can for my daughter's formula because she has to have Similac Alimentum...it really does enrage me when people sell it when they get it from WIC programs because they are using it to get a profit when people like us can't qualify because my husband is in the military and we have tricare...so yeah we spend an average $200-$250 a month out of pocket for formula...but hopefully for just 4 or 5 more months and then she'll be a year old

It would be apparent whether the cans were from the actual company, not tampered with, and not expired when you received them. So while you might end up paying for something you couldn't use (not a very high chance). If you are reasonably attentive I don't think you could miss something that is dangerous.

*lol* if you want to know if a can is sealed just hold it under water. If you really think someone would inject something in and then reseal the can, someone could do that in the store as well.

Think of all the freaks out there that could potentially be the ones selling (and tampering with) your babies food. Think of how easy it would be to put a needle through the jar with something harmful in it! You shouldn't order something like formula from eBay. Try saving money a different way.
Best wishes!

I sale formula coupons and checks but never have sold the formula, my sister does sometimes. I have never bought any or know of anyone who has though, except of course the buyers of my sisters auctions. I don't see a problem with it, all the items are factory sealed for your safety.

I bought formula on ebay when my son was little. I always made sure the can wasn't tampered with. I had no issues. Be sure to check the seller's rating.

I wouldn't do it. Safety is of the utmost importance when it comes to your baby's food. I would want to deal with a reputable well known retailer.

better to get from Craig's list, the expense of shipping can be high because formula is heavy
