buy a radio transmitter from somewhere like radioshack, or ebay. One end would go in your cigarette lighter, and the other headphone jack would go into your ipod. This transmitter would emit the music from your ipod into a radio station, where you would adjust the correct station in your stereo to find the music playing. There is always a possibility of not getting good reception though.

There are five basic ways to connect an iPod to your car stereo. The two best options are a line-in jack (looks like a headphone jack, but is used for incoming sound) or a USB port. The next best option is, if you have a cassette deck, to get a tape adapter and just plug it into the headphone jack on your iPod. If you're willing to dig into the dash, you might be able to plug into RCA jacks on the back of the deck. And lastly, if none of these four options will work for you, and you're not willing to just buy a new aftermarket deck (which I'd highly suggest considering at this point), you _MIGHT_ be able to get away with using an FM transmitter. The problem is that they emit a very weak signal that will be overpowered by any radio station that you can barely receive. You will need to find a section of radio band that has _NO_ incoming signals and tune your transmitter to this frequency. Be warned, however, that as you drive around, reorienting your car will affect how well your car stereo will receive incoming signals, and long-distance travel will bring you within range of radio stations whose signals aren't strong enough to reach you at home, so you might find that you have to stop regularly and retune your transmitter and radio.
Regardless of what you choose, I'd suggest getting some sort of power adapter to keep your iPod charged when driving.

Monster makes a radio transmitter for ipod that you plug into the bottom of your ipod and then plug the other end inot you cigarette lighter. It plays your ipod on the selected radio station, as well as charges your ipod at the same time.

i have a product called an iTrip that plugs into the bottom of the iPod and broadcasts to my radio. i can play my iPod in the car or anywhere else i have access to a radio. it's also wireless. the only drawback is that it doesn't charge the iPod like some other products. my boyfriend got me one for about $15 on eBay. it's a great product, in my opinion :)

if your car has a cassette deck go to Wal-Mart and buy a cassette adapter. you can buy it for a max of $20.00 bucks. which could have more goodies for you to use. I use that for my MP3 and other things too.
