I checked several sources and alas, there doesn't seem to be a direct connection for this. Perhaps this is something you can do for your PhD dissertation?

When someone reads a novel or a book it is often obvious that they are supposed to understand allusions to the Bible. If The Grapes of Wrath talks about a baby in a basket one is supposed to know about the story of Moses. If one reads Hesse's The European, one is supposed to be familiar with Noah and the Flood, etc. But, to make that direct find-everything-in-one-place book, I don't seem to find it.
