I am wondering which cable is better to use for a projector, serial or USB. Also, please give me a reason why.

To connect to a projector to produce an image you need a video cable. VGA or DVI depending on the projector.

A lot of projectors have a USB port. However this is not for the image but to allow the projector remote to act like a mouse.

Again a lot of projectors have a serial link, but again this is not for the display, but allows a computer to control the projector - turn on/off, select input etc.

For a projector? I've never heard of a USB projector. Most projectors are going to have a VGA input for a PC, and you should use this input.

the cable is termed a VGA cable. it appears like a huge D mendacity on that is side with 21pins (you call them sprocks) interior prepared into 3 rows. VGA stands for Video snap shots Adapter.

VGA works fine, it's pretty much standard, plus with VGA you shouldn't have to deal with any driver issues.
