People are at the top of the food chain because we are intelligent. Guns have been around not quite 400 years but last time I checked, we were at the top for the last 10 or 11 thousand years.
How long do you think you would survive if you went out into the wilderness with no weapon and not killing any animal? I would guess not more than a week, because you are a weak.
Even if you do grow your own food, how do you keep animals from stealing it? Do you sleep in your garden? Have fun with that.

What bible is that? The Christian God gave man dominion over all the rest of nature. That's pretty much a license to do as we will with what ever. If you feel the animals are innocent and helpless, feel free to meet me at the Bronx Zoo this week. You can jump into the lion enclosure 30 minutes prior to feeding time. Those innocent animals should leave you alone, right?

Man is not an animal. Man is the only living creature with reason (though most evade their reason at least part of the time, by supporting statism). Animals by definition don't have reason, which is why they are inferior. Animals are nothing more than property to be owned by man.
While there are some people who support war-mongering, Victorianism, or anti-Capitalism, many others are reasonable and oppose all 3 of these monsters.
It is the idea that people are animals, proposed by Darwinism that leads to nihilism, which leads to hacking, virus writing, school shootings, drug abuse, drunkenness, suicide, and war-mongering. The biggest problem our current society has is that we're caught between the nihilistic left and the puritanical right. Puritanism leads eventually to statism and nihilism. The modern day left used to be a group of Neo-Puritans. The alternate to nihilsm and puritanism is to build around inalienable human rights. Obviously, the idea of rights only refers to individuals and groups, not being human, have no rights. The primary individual right is the right not to be attacked, from which the rights to life, liberty, and property are derived from which all other rights are derived.
Animals are a piece of property held by people and do not have rights. What's next? Permitting sickos to sleep with animals because they're "equal" to human beings?

I am confused..........
Animals have a hierarchy - from weakest to strongest - the strongest are at the top of the food chain.
The strongest ones eat the weakest ones -
it's the law of nature
"People" at the top of the food chain means they are the best at what they do.
What does nature's food chain have to do with the invention of guns??????

Wouldn't that mean we deserve it since we were smart enough to create guns? Survival goes to the mentally strongest as well as the physically strongest.
