Here is the deal... I was seen today and am dilated to a 2 and 60% thinnned. I am having contractions and during them the baby doesnt move. Then when they end she moves some. What does this mean? Is this a sign that it is false labor or could it be true?

When I change positions they still come and I have been drinking plenty so I know neither of those things are factors. Doctor says I can go any day! Thanks

It does sound like the beinning of labor based on your description. The baby sometimes feels the squeeze of the ctx and has little area to move, so they don't move. When they end she has room to move, so she does. If you are noticing that they are occuring closer than evey ten minutes and are increasing in intensity, you might want to call your MD (baby number 4!).

Good luck...hopefully you go soon!

The baby is basically being squeezed during contractions, so she can't move very much. It sounds like you are having real contractions. I would imagine that you will probably have that baby in the next day or so. The only thing to worry about as far as fetal movement goes is if the baby's movements become frantic or if they stop for a longer period of time. Get your rest, you'll need it.

good luck!

The baby doesn't move during contractions because things get tight when the muscles sqeeze and tighten! lol

You know she's fine because she's moving right after. Sounds like your uterus is really toning up for labor and it could happen any day now. Your doc is right on!

Congrats!

I would venture to say my dear friend that you are probably finally in labor, braxtons as you know go away when you change position, and hydrating yourself will also make braxtons disappear..keep watch I think this MIGHT might be it! Without seeing you I obviously cant say 100%..are you timing them at all? If so how "far" apart are they right now?

If you read up on contractions, the baby will not move during this for some reason. They still breathe, but they aren't active while you have a contraction.
