I know a couple who have a daughter named Aidan. It took a little getting used to because Aidan is usually a boys' name. Pretty much everyone has said things behind their back about how weird it is to use a boys' name as their daughters' name. But who cares, if you like it go for it. I would just recommend making the middle name something kind of girly to balance it out.

Aidan isn't the #1 used name, but it is becoming very common. I attached a link to the social security website. Every child born in the US that is issued a social security number has the first name recorded. It's the most accurate site for name popularity (so many different websites each say something different). Anyway, Aidan (spelled that way) is the traditional Irish boys name, but if you like it you can use it however you want. Since it is becoming more common, it might be refreshing to use it for a girl. I wouldn't name a boy Lisa or Emily, but girls can carry boys names much better than the other way around. Good luck with your baby!

Be careful to match the first name with the last name. Sometimes when the two names are put together, they create unusual abbreviations. So, think about the last name because with the name Aidan, being a simple and short name, will product the initial A, so be careful, since I don't know what the last name is. Good luck

I would definately advise against using the name Aidan for a girl, since it is currently a very popular name for boys.
Just think about her future kindergarden class, 3 little boy Aidans and 1 little girl Aidan, she'll be "girl Aiden" for quite a while.

I know it's a popular name for boys now. But 6 years ago when I had my daughter...it wasn't even on the top 100 names for boys (or girls). My daughter's name is Aidan Lindsay. I love it for a girl.

My 2 year old is named Aidan, so I am a bad judge of that name for a girl! I really like it for a girl, but I worry that it will be a tough one for you (and your daughter) to deal with over the years.
Maybe you could spell it "Aydin" or "Aydyn". For a middle name, go with something that flows well and doesn't fight with the last letter of the first name. How about Elizabeth?

I think that Aidan is a very nice name, but very, very popular right now and so it is also very common.
I like Aidan Rose, Aidan Leigh and Aidan Sophia.
