I'd say it never stops --- not even at night! =P

And my mind...there's times I wish it would stop thinking a bit...then again, I think too much....

There are uncountable activities that pertain to the personality. At the more subtle levels where the activity takes on an analogical nature that, at times, requires enough energy to determine how all these activities are to continue. You are that activity that makes that determination. A close approximation of how many times that can happen during the average day is about 50,000. That could mean 50,000 times an activity within you enters the pre-conscious area or even the conscious levels where a level of determination needs a force called the "will" to manage amongst all the contradictions objective phenomenon presents. Perhaps there is no moment of "no activity" within you but not all has to be conscious to qualify as mental activity.

The mind never stops. It can be a real grave digger. =} If we could stop following our thoughts with other thoughts "feeding" them life...energy. Letting some die would change our lives.

We have been conditioned, like the magpie, we follow and pick up every glittering thought. The insanity we are experiencing in our world, is the result of thoughts ramifying endlessly.

That you even notice that you have 'endless' thoughts is pretty amazing.

your mind is always thinking whether you are aware of it or not. Even when you are asleep you dream. Your brain is always active.
If you are talking about concious thought where you are trying to figure things out and make desicions probably 100 times a day or more.

If it's like mine, to many to count and sometimes I'm sure you wish you didn't think as much. I think in my sleep, so you can tell what a worry bug I am.
