Sounds like your room is twice as big as the one I grew up in. Is there a larger room available? If not, you may need to think about getting rid of some of the stuff you don't really need or use. Maybe you could have a garage sale and make a little extra money. Maybe what you have could be better organized to take advantage of the space you have. Good luck.

well if you can't get a bigger room, just throw out some of the junk. I'm sure there's a lot of it you don't really need or want. once you start going through your stuff I'm sure you'll find stuff you can give away or throw out without feeling bad about it. Just listen to your mom, she's probably right

To be honest with you, it's half and half. Compromise. Go through all of your things, separate them into summer and winter, then into shirts/blouses/sweaters, pants/slacks/shorts/jeans, and a pile for work clothes (clothes for working around the house, painting, repairs, etc.). In each stack, anything you have not worn in a year, and anything you don't see yourself wearing in a year you should donate. Remember, fads and fashions change, and cleaning out the closets and dresser drawers is a good thing-it makes room for new trends you'll want to buy!

You should just go through your room who knows you might find stuff you dont want, need, and can donate instead of just lying around. Your room might seem bigger then since there is less stuff.

I would lose some of my stuff if I were you because I doubt your parents are just going to up and move because you need a bigger room. Donate the extra stuff to Salvation Army or have a yard sale. Get rid of your stuff and fix it up all at the same time.

I suggest looking through your stuff. Get rid of the stuff you haven't used in six months. Donate or ditch the clothes that don't fit. Maybe have a yard sale when the weather gets better.

even if you feel that you can still function in your room quite well.. despite all the stuff.. it would be a good idea to clean it out. set aside one or two days.. pull everything from your drawers/cupboards/tables and sort through.
only keep something in your room if you can see yourself using it in the next 2-3months.. if not.. store it in a large cardboard box. you dont nessesarily have to throw it out.

I find when I ask someone to do something and they do it, I will bend over backwards to show them thanks...your mum will do the same....happy mum, happy life!!! Unless your parents are buying a new house, face it that you will never get a bigger room and work with what you have. Hope this helps...cheers

I think your mom is right. If you have a bigger room, you'll just have more junk. I'm an adult and I wish my room was that big!
