I wondered why Edward never served in the Military? Why was he so special because of his gifted talents to the Arts?
It was quoted once that they assumed he be a homosexual. The whole wedding to his wife, I think is just another show to prevail the truth.

First, about Eddie "wimping out" as you say: That's one way to look at it. But keep in mind that it isn't easy to be a Royal Marine. About a third, one in three, who try out don't succeed.

Second, about Harry being willing to serve in Iraq: Harry does what Harry wants to do and doesn't care about what Eddie did or didn't do in the Marines.

Well, Prince Andrew served with honor in the battles during the Faulklands War, so that might be Harry's real example.
Edward tried hard to get through basic training, but he just couldn't.

No, it isn't. Edward didn't "wimp" out. In fact, he was most of the way through the course AND his CO said he was an awesome officer. He decided to follow his dreams in entertainment!

Harry wants to serve to prove that he's macho and not to be in his brother's shadow. However, his deployment might lead to the deaths of others!

I think it took more courage from Edward to stand up to his father and say he was leaving the Marines, I wouldn't like to face a disapproving Prince Phillip.

Well said Molly, my sentiments exactly.

Prince Harry is his own man and will do as he sees fit...I seriously doubt it has anything to do with Prince Edward or Prince Andrew

Obviously his uncle did the right thing as the Royal Marines surrendered so easily to the Iranians recently.
I think Harry is seriously mentally disturbed.
