Is it true that you can't sue the law?

My mom told me that. But I've heard of police officers getting sued.

That is not true. It is very very hard because they all stick together. With the new age of video its getting easier. I have an aunt that was pulled over and sexually assaulted and beat up by an officer. It was not caught on tape because it was about 25 years ago. But she sued and she won and the idiot lost his job.

You can sue a police officer, but as with all lawsuits, you have to have a basis in law or your case will be dismissed.

Law Enforcement agencies and personnel, like most government agencies and personnel, are immune from suit for doing their jobs. To bring a lawsuit that will withstand a motion for dismissal, it must be shown the suit is for illegal/inappropriate conduct and that you are likely to prevail. Almost all lawsuits brought against the government or its personnel are dismissed as the agency or person is found to have been simply doing their job.

people love to sue us. they look for chances to scam us and then sue us. they plot to. i once had a DUI guy that wanted his buddy to hit him in the back of the squad car to make it look like i assaulted him. he put on this whole big show. haha the fuker shut up real quick when i told him there was a dash cam
