steel rat is right breaking hearts and having hearts broken is a part of life and it happens to you all your life believe me. I'm 52 and it still happens.
WISE HEARTchildren love easily but they also cope with things easily, don't worry about your niece and nephew they will honestly be fine and you have not broken their little hearts, children accept that the ways of adults are strange and understand that you will come back. they know you are ok because their mother tells them this and yes they will miss you but they know you will come back and they know you are a part of their life. children trust absolutely and that's why they believe they will see you again.

Yes. He was just a friend and he was very much in love with me, but I was never in love with him. The problem: he was too short and he looked like a gorilla (literally). And hard as I tried, I could not get past that. We never dated, but he begged to be my boyfriend for two years. Then, one day, my cousin had a "friend" that he wanted to introduce me to, and from the moment I laid eyes on him, I knew he was the one for me. Gorilla man tried to throw salt into my relationship with my boyfriend for several months until he eventually gave up and was never heard from again. That was fifteen years ago. Today, my "boyfriend" and I have been married for thirteen years, we have three children and I don't regret a single thing. Back then, I felt badly that "gorilla man" loved me so much and I had no ounce of feeling whatsoever toward him, but I never lied to him about how I felt, and I do not feel bad for staying true to my feelings. My mother wanted me to date "gorilla man" because he was manager of some big shot restaurant at the time. NEVER date someone because someone else thinks you should! It would have the been the biggest mistake of my life. I am very happy with my husband of thirteen years and wouldn't trade a single day of it.

Yes, I broke the hearts of my five-year-old nephew Asem and my three-year-old niece Farah. I stayed with them for a month from January 2007 until February of the same year at my sister's house who lives in the Emirates.
During this time, I gave them the best time of their little lives as we played together many times and I pampered them to the extreme. Their mom, my sister, does not have any time for them as she works most of the time. They loved me to a large extent and wanted me to be there for ever. Understandably, I had to leave them and come back to Egypt. I left while they were sleeping. I broke their little hearts and broke mine too at the same time. However, I love them dearly and right now, I take them as a source of motivation for everything I do. Before them I absloutely had nothing to live for.
As for "love-wise", I don't think that I have broken anyone's heart. I can not do that voluntarily to anybody. Some people actually feel happy to break people's hearts. This brings joy to them. It makes them feel wanted and desired. I have never done that to anybody. However, I recall a few times when people treated me badly, I just chose to "walk away". I don't think this can be considered as breaking someone's heart. I take it more as revenging for a wounded pride.

i did it i don't regret it because i'm happier
without him. he has recovered and gotten remarried and
is probably happier too. you can't stay with someone you don't want just to keep from hurthing them. then no one is happy.
