Ok... If a there are sled dogs pulling a sled in fresh snow, there is more friction on the sled runners. What does more friction on the runners mean for the dogs?

They will need more energy (food) sooner as they are using more to counteract the drag on the runners. They will also need to rest more often as they will fatigue their muscles quicker.
