i need to know if 1000.00 still spendable because my grandfarther gave me 3 of these originals bill he said he had them since 1994 i don't plan on spending them but i'm just cusrious are they still spendable in the united states?

Yes, the are still legal tender. But two things:

1) They were last printed in 1969, so they are way older than when your granddad got them.

2) Sell them to a coin collector and get way more than a grand for them.

They are legal tender. That doesn't mean a business MUST accept them. Any person can refuse the bill, but a person to whom you owe money must accept your offer of a $1000 bill as an offer of legal payment; but again, just sell the damn thing to a collector for much more..

Banks will still accept the 1000 but these are not in circulation- meaning - you can't spend them in a store and once the bank gets them, they must return them to the Fed for proper disposal.

I would think so....don't just leave them hanging around, go deposit them in a savings account and see if the bank takes them!

they are no longer legal tender. for short, thety're not usable anymore, but you can sell them for high prices as an antique
