It was Dennis Weaver aka Chester, I'm almost certain.
Ken Curtis, was a doll in real life. I met him 31 years ago when Ronald Reagan failed in the primaries against G. Ford. What a man he was. An accomplished pianist and singer with a lot of talent and very much a gentleman.

Matt Dillon (James Arness) is the one with the real limp. He hides it well. He was shot while serving in the military.
