every dvd burner that I am aware of can read and write cds as well so there should not be a problem....the only thing I would be worried about is wether the motherboard can support pci express or not, and if so......do you have a monitor to go with all this thats going to be able to refresh at anything higher than 70mhz?
Most lcd flat screen or newer crts can handle it but if you plan on using this thing for gaming I would suggest also getting a standard pci video card for everyday stuff as gaming can usually utilize the pci express but most of your day to day computing is going to draw on your monitor unless its a newer one that can handle the higher rates.

Over all, after looking up all your parts, you have put together a decent system for the money. I have 2 concerns: The first is the Kingston Value Ram, but the user reviews I have read say it is ok. The case is very low end and that is my 2nd concern. It is made of very thin steel and bend easily, many things don't fit together well and it only has a one 80MM fan. You should have at least 2 fans to draw in air from the front and side an one in the back for exhausting the hot air. 120MM fans are better as they move more air with less noise.

As far as the person talking about monitors and refresh rates, etc. Don't worry about it. If your monitor will support 75 or 85 hz refresh rate, you will be golden. My wife's computer has the same video card and it is a very good card. If you are connecting to a LCD display, all you need is 60hz for refresh. This video card makes looking at your screen comfortable.

Good luck with your system and have fun!

Hey !:-)

Well , I don't seem to see anything that will cause troubles in your configuration !

but to be on the safe side, just make sure that the motherboard supports the core 2 duo processor !

everything else seems fine !

and about your DVD writer , yes it will be able to read DVDs too, also, it can read and write normal CDs !:-)

i hope i've been helpful !:-)

That's a pretty good set up. Go for it!

You've got some hidden performance reserve in there. Your E4300 is a great overclocker. Your vidcard also have some overclocking reserve. And your PSU looks capable of handling anything you throw at it.
