Our landlord is asking us his tennants to pay the bill for water and sewage on the apartment we rent from him. We pay all utilities (Heat, hot water, electric) as well. I always thought that Water and sewage were the legal responsibility of the landlord.
We are in NJ. Any help would be great.

Nope, most apartment complex's make the tenets pay the water and sewer bill.

Usually just Trash disposal is provided.

Now it's some apartments do pay water and sewer, but they are not required to.

Your lease should clearly list what utilities you are responsible for and which the landlord is responsible for.

Your lease should outline what your responsibilities are.

There is no set law saying that the landlord has to pay certain expenses.
