I know I've asked another question today but I have yet another one...getting ready for the month ahead :)....
My mother and another website mentioned taking cough syrup to help thin the mucus...Does this work? Has anyone tried it? If so how often do you take it?

i've heard mucinex to thin the mucus, which often prevents sperm from penetrating far enough. start the day before you ovulate, and take for two or three days.

Yes it works! It worked for me so I'm a true believer. I started w/ Robitussin but I couldn't stand the taste of taking it 3Xs a day so I just started taking Mucinex because 2 pills a day is too easy. I conceived my 2 month trying! Robitussin really thins out the mucous. This I can tell you by my last month experience. I started taking pretty early and the result was immediate. As for the pregnancy achievement result, I can't tell you now yet since I am on day 37 of my cycle (usually 32-36), and HPT showed up negative today. But might still have low level of hormons, I am not sure.

After reviewing some of the other answers, it is safe to say that as with most things the results vary from individual to individual. I tried Robitussin for 3 cycles, and it did not thin my mucus. I started as early as 5 days and as late as 2 day before ovulation. But, for $5 it will not hate or harm you to try it for yourself. Good luck!

Have heard about this. It's supposed to thin your mucuous. Some people use Robitussin or Mucinex. I haven't tried it.
