I think it really depends...

if by some miracle, things vastly improve, which I just don't see, then no...

if things don't improve, which seems to be the general theme over there, then it could be quite costly to the party

there is still 2 more years for things to get worse...I don't see it getting better.

If the most Conservative state of the Union has protests...look out republicans.

And I also have heard the "surge is working only because of the American blood" how long will that keep the Republicans secure in their jobs...and I also read that the Iraq government has refused to let out the number of dead from the surge..I assume it's a lot if they don't want to say

Probably the opposite. The Democrats swore that they would be a NEW kind of congress that can get things done, and are falling on their a**es.
