No, but its not being ignored anymore as much as it use to be.

The reporting of child abuse is increasing. Also the definition of child abuse is widening. There are also more people. I will guarantee that if you went back 100 years there was proportionally more actual child abuse than there is today. The reality is that except in some localities the incidence of all crimes is falling.
