Go to walmart or some other place like that and buy some Combat gel...this stuff works amazingly good...It kills any rocach that eats it and when they go back to nest and die the other roaches eat it and they die....It works a lot better than boric acid and can be put in places where children and house pets cannot reach it.

You can't get rid of them in an apartment. I have the most unbelievable fear of roaches, so trust me I have tried everything. The best thing you can do is get the roach foggers and fog your apartment. Then get roach spray and spray near all the doors, windows, and behind furniture and appliances (basically all the places that don't get much movement). Then get those little roach motels and hide them all around your place (under the couch, in the cabinets, in closets...). If you see spiders in you apartment, don't kill them, they will eat the roaches. Obviously, keep you place very clean. Give it a thorough cleaning and keep it that way, especially your kitchen and any other areas that you eat. Try not to eat on the couch or in bed as that will cause crumbs to be all over your home. This will help dramatically reduce the amount of roaches in your apartment. The problem though, is that you can only affect your apartment, and your neighbors may not be so caring about the problem as you. Roaches live in the walls between your apartments and outside. If you have the option, move to an apartment on a higher floor. I have found less bugs seem to live on the higher floors, but they still live there. Good luck!

There are some products that look like chalk that really do a job on ants and roaches. Unfortunately, it is usually illegal. Some times it can be found in Chinese markets. If you have crawling children, you would have to pass on this.

All you do is draw a line across likely paths from hiding places and the next morning there are dead roachs all over the place. After a few days, no more roachs.

You can get some that is supposed to be legal on eBay just search for Insecticide chalk. I've never used the legal stuff.

I read an article once about this but I'm not sure if it works because I've never had to do it. They said it absolutely works though. If you try it and it works please let me know.

Kill cockroaches with a mixture of 1/3 borax, 1/3 cornmeal, 1/3 flour and a dash of powdered sugar. Sprinkle this in crevices under sinks and vanities where cockroaches love to hide. Keep this away from children and animals.

You can also try this.

Mix powdered boric acid with sugar and powdered nondairy creamer. Use a mixture of of 50 percent boric acid to 25 percent sugar and 25 percent creamer. This is relatively safe but should still be kept away from children and animals. Sprinkle the mixture in all the dark, warm places that cockroaches love - under sinks and stoves, behind refrigerators, in cabinets and closets, and so on. The roaches will walk through the powder and then clean themselves, much the way a cat does. Once they ingest the powder they die.

Also, to keep roaches out of the cupboards, place some bay leaves on the shelves.

Same thing happened to me when I lived in govermnent housing, It turned out the lady below me was so dirty she had mice nesting under her couch with newspapers and didnt realize it.
They have to de-roach the entire complex where you live or the roaches just keep moving on in. I was very clean and kept everything sealed and in baggies, but the neighbors were so dirty, it was a lost cause.
I had roaches so bad, I could sweep them up off the floor in piles in the dustpan when they bombed my apartment.
If they refuse to de roach and spray the whole building every month, I would just move which is what I ended up doing.

Try using Ortho Home Defense Max. I use it in my home and only have to spray every 4 or 5 months. You can get a gallon at Wal Mart in the garden dept. for $8 to $10. It comes in a white jug with a spray nozzle attached. After I let a girlfriend stay with me, she brought some unwelcome guests via her cardboard boxes, I was told it would cost over $100. to get rid of what I think were german cockroaches (apparently very difficult to kill) and that they might have to come out 3 or 4 times to get the job done. I asked a friend who owns several rental properties what to do and he recommended the Ortho Max spray. I saved $90 and had enough left to spray several more times. I have children and pets too and have had no problems. It also gets spiders, waterbugs, and other pests.

Boric Acid. I had terrible roaches in an apartment I lived in years ago. I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of them, then I finally found boric acid in a white powder form, sprinkled it around the baseboards, under the frige, etc. The roaches were completely gone. I never saw another roach in my apartment again. My neighbors still had them terrible but the little b*st*rds wouldn't set foot in my apartment again.

Your landlord needs to have them come back out & spray again. I'm assuming that he had a professional do the spraying? If not, he needs to call a pro, like Terminix or Orkin. That's the only way you're going to get rid of them.

Roaches can come from someone moving in let your landlord know when you started to see them and mabey he can find who brought them in.You have a right as a tennant to not have bugs in your apt. so if your landlord ignores you report him.

you can get roach bombs and everyone in the apt will have to set them off. you cant come back in the hour for a few hours after you do it, so pick a good time.

that should kill them..but if someone os dirty there, they will come back.
