I'm in an astronomy class, and i have to do this project on a certain aspect of astronomy. i was given a list of possible topics and one of the options was paranormal activity... I didnt think it was related

There's no relation. Astronomy is a science, and the paranormal doesn't exist - hence, why it is called 'para'-normal - not normal, not real.

But they were probably referring to astrology, which certainly fits the 'not real' bill.

Well bacuse paranormal activity is linked to 'aleins' or other world beings, being an astronomer myself, it's related because of the fact that we know little about the universe and believie that paranormal activity is linked to space. Thats the best i can do, i've been on the job for 3 days straight so i can't think as clearly as i like.

In no way are the 2 related.
Paranormal activity is not scientifically based, and is not measurable or quantifiable.
Astronomy is a science, paranormal activity is not.

There is no connexion whatsoever. About the same as a paper clip is related to a cane toad.
