There are way better things to do than waste time watching Idol on TV. Read, play a musical instrument, even just taking a walk outside to experience what life has to offer is better than sitting and watching TV. TV turns your mind to mush!!

I was never interested in American Idol. I actually don't watch much tv anymore. I find doing homework and going to school more important than sitting in front of a tv all day everyday. I'm sure I'd get bored with that after a while (like, maybe after a half of a day tops).

Isn't it nice to be able to express one's own opinion? Well, that said, don't generalize your opinion and direct it toward others. In my free time, not only do I read, but I clean, cook, take care of 3 small children, and yes, watch TV. If it is something that brings you happiness, by all means, watch TV. I understand that quite a lot of people take TV watching as an Olympic sport and that is not excusable. But TV can be not only entertaining, but educational as well. One other point of view: If life is too full to watch TV, why waste it reflecting on things that are past and cannot be changed? Seems kinda pointless to me.

Was this really meant as a question? It looks like a lecture to me. I watch AI, but I also spend much time, gardening, walking, working, tending to my pets, reading, playing piano, and photographing landscapes and flowers and hanging out with friends and neighbors. But apparently you think I don't have a life just because I enjoy AI. That's pretty weird, don't you think? I could say, get a life and get off the computer!

AI was OK the first season, because it was a new idea...but it has become sooooo bad. I think they need to skip a season, find some REAL talent, not a bunch of already spoiled rich kids, and go for it again! Or get a new show, like Tomorrows Oscar Winners

No I don't watch American Idol. I think that was your question.
Yes t.v. can be a disturbing distraction. I rarely watch it and when I do I usually check out the history channel, discovery, travel and that type of stuff 1st and than I look at that news as almost a joke.

I agree that american idol is intensly stupid, and is turning the US into one huge homosexual couple...with france of coarse.
But I must say that not ALL tv is bad, the history channel is very educational, then again some of it is just uninteresting, alot of kids also learn their alphabet on sesame street, my little brother learned a little before the age of 5. Some shows are just entertaining, I watch family guy when ever i see it on, because it makes me laugh, laughing is definatly a good thing, everyone needs that. I agree that most tv is stupid and shouldn't be watched every hour of the day though, but take it easy, its just means of entertainment.

This is only your opinion. I care for my 2 grandchildren, and my daughter ,who lives with me and my husband. I cook, clean, garden, homework, and shop.I go to all my grand kids baseball games Hockey and now La cross. I have a full day . I am also on oxygen and when American Idol comes on I stop everything, so as I can relax, to you this is a waste, but to me it is enjoyable.

I am pretty anti-TV myself. I can't understand what is so fascinating about it. Television feeds our brains with junky messages. But, I suppose this is some peoples way of releiving stress and escaping the real world for awhile. I'd much rather go online or watch a movie (that way I control what I watch and am not exposed to awful commercials.)
I do agree that some people watch too much TV. But, that is what they want their life to entail.

I watch way to much TV, but I use it as an escape & sure don't watch American Idol, or in my case Australian Idol, simply because they are crappy shows. I use TV as an escape from everything because everything is so completely pathetic on it (besides Docter Who, that's so nerdy, but I love Docter Who) & the patheticness of it makes everything else seem ridiculous & at least worth being part of because it is so ridiculous. In other words it makes everything else look funny.
