why does my car die at a red light & the battery gauge goes crazy before it dies.?

it doesn't want to start after driving it until it sits for awhile. its not like a dead battery. the engine won't start, but not dead. replaced the alternator already & the battery is new.

Could have a direct short in the brake circuit or a bad Computor ground at idle,or both.

The ground wire between the engine and the chassis is disconnected.
