I am an only child and my mom is a single mother. We're close, but not like in a "Gilmore Girls" way. I have tried using my moms razor once, but i hated it.. I went online to check my email and saw an add for Nair. I clicked on it and it looked cool. I mean, wouldnt you rather not get razor cuts?? I really want to ask my mom if i can use nair.. Last year, she asked me if i wanted to, but i didnt think i needed to so i made a fit and got mad at her. I think it was a bad choise. Im very self consious about my body but all my friends shave and i want to too. How do i ask her? Shes the type of person who you don't like talking to about stuff like that. My mom's friend Jill is a much better person to talk to. I wish i could ask her if i could use Nair and not my mom... HELP MEEEEE!!!

I know how you feel, when i had to ask my mom to start shaving I just sort of brought up how my friends were doing it and mentioned how maybe I should start..as for the Nair..I don't know how that works, but i've tried Veet and it doesnt work well at all, regular razors should be fine if you're careful.

so weird, i never had to ask my mom about stuff like that growing up back in the 80s. i just walked into my parents bathroom, grabbed the electric shaver and had at it. I was maybe 10 or 11. I am greek/italian, and have very dark hair at a avery early age. my mom noticed it was starting to bother me and just told me what to do. I was really not ready for the whole razor thing....i am a klutz and cut myself very easily. so didn't start that until about 10 years ago in college.

i asked my parents for an electric shaver for my birthday. i know it is an odd gift, but frankly it was the only way I could get one. i don't like nair at all. I have very sensitive skin and that stuff burns me.

you might try talking to your mom's friend jill and telling her the situation. maybe she can help approach your mom?

You could talk to Jill but I would also talk to your mom. Ya and about that Nair idea, I tried it but it made my legs sting and the hair grew back really fast so I wouldn't buy it. It does not smell very good either sooo ya dont buy it. Even if u use shower gell u can still smell it so I have to put lotion and spray on. Hope whatever you do works!

hard to beleive, but shaving is less painful than nair. i tried nair after i started shaving and couldnt stand it! it smells sooo bad. i thought i was going to pass out. and the whole time its on ur legs it itches so much. it hurts much less to cut ur self. but what i would do, was talk to ur moms friend and tell her to mention it to ur mom. that way, ur mom will probably bring it up first and that would make it a lot easier for you to ask her.

nair sucks. it burns and really doesn't work well. shave. ask mom to buy you some razors. lather up and shave. if the hair is long, try trim it the best you can. shave with the grain first, relather and then shave against. go slow.

Nair stinks. Get something called shava, that doesn't stink. It comes with it's own plastic/rubber razor, just incase I got the name wrong.
