I can honestly say I am not religous...But like I once heard, "I don't believe in God, but I try to behave as though he were watching...."!!
I am tolerant of other peoples faiths, as long as they don't try 'bullying' me into absolutely believing in theirs.
My children are not allowed to be visually religious, like wearing Christian (or other) symbols, and are not allowed to have nativity plays or anything like that, in case of 'offending' other religious groups.
But like you said, how can we be knowlegeable and tolerant of other religions if we are not allowed to learn about them at school, where childrens boundaries and tolerations are formed..?
Beats me!
P. S Welcome back!

That's a great experiment. I think about that a lot when I'm on here, reading hateful exchanges on the Religion and Spirituality boards, esp. between atheists and Christians. (At least it's hateful on the American page...this is my first visit to the UK version of Y/A, so not sure how it is here) If these guys were talking about anything else and didn't know the leanings of the people they were talking to, they'd probably be best buds. It's a real shame that in this day and age people still let these things drive them apart. Personally, I'm a Christian and my two best friends are atheists. I never preach to them about what they believe, and they recently came to my church to see me perform in Godspell and were very kind and gracious about it. If we can do it, why can't everyone?
Sorry, I know that was more than you asked. I'm not known for getting to the point very quickly :)

I was raised christian but I don't follow it so much. I don't like the bashing homosexuality, I feel people can't help who turns them on or who they fall for. I don't care about the ten commandments because people break them all the time and still manage to live a happy life. I don't feel the need to be a part of a church family full of hypocrites, so I read the bible or pray on my own when I feel the need to. I don't feel religion should be such a big issue in relationships with others.

i dont juge people on any thing exept how they treat others ... (that is bothe on hear and in the out side world) so i is not verry strange that we mostly all get along fine ... i think that we should try to treat the otres (non users) in the same way as in just be the same out side as we are on hear (i am not saying that you are not i am just saying if we all do that then others will to and then there will be less crime/wars and all that lot)

I am wiccan but don't count me into that equation I never judge a person just because of their religion. You know what they say judge not lest ye be judged.
I personally like everyone until they have done something personally against me or to society that is so heinous that you can't help but to dislike them.
