Roller lines....you mean overlap? Areas where it looks darker (more full bodied color than other parts of the wall?).
It takes 2 coats of color to finish a wall so that it looks good.(maybe even 3) Take a day (or 2 if the room has no heat and it is cold outside/inside).
Lightly sand over to knock off the dust balls, and then apply another coat.
As for the water, yeah, about a 1/2cup to a gallon(unless you bought some cheapo paint/that stuff is already thin.) It won't affect the coverage ability of the paint, it splatters more,
Also it depends on the roller pile length. Not too furry 1/2"

Depending on how thick your roller marks are you might consider sanding them. Did you get any roller marks from your primer you applied if so your applying too much pressure when rolling. An average size room will take one gallon of paint on the walls, if you used more then your putting on too thick, make a W on the wall and then fill it in with your roller loaded with paint, you should be using a 3/8's inch nap for a roller and a shed resistant one this is very important don't use a 99 cent nap or it will look like a 99 cent finished job. best way is to "load" the paint heavy on your roller and apply in 'W' form in a square of about 3'x3' - then reload and do another square blending the lines.
do not use alot of pressure as this will peel the paint back off.
I've never seen a room done well with 1 coat of paint - always 2 coats at the minimum.
don't be afraid to load the roller but not so you have large drips or globs when lifting roller from pan.
water not needed as thick paint is better for coverage where thin will require more coats (thin paint is best for spray application)
always have a damp soapy rag for cleanups.

i paint homes, and you are getting the lines because of too much paint, never use those stupid plastic trays. Get your self a 5 gallon bucket, and a steel grid. Now when you roll, roll the edges of the roller cover first to get that heavy line off, then roll, i always use an extension pole to roll, just makes it easier than holding that little handle.make sure you dont roll when the rollers dry, its too much work, keep good and even.

V.dig is right...you are using too much paint on the roller and i dare say are trying to get coverage with only one coat .
You can get better coverage by rolling horizontally first then vertical over the top of that.
By coverage I mean depth of colour not maximising amount of paint.
If you are in-experienced then I also dare say that you are using short rapid strokes....also try much longer strokes and your last vertical stroke without trying to squeeze out the last drop in the foller will blend in the roller lines.

You are dry rollin'. Use more paint on the roller. when you dry roll, you have lines, have poor coverage, and work to hard. A loaded paint roller covers well.

Don't add water!

Read the can. It should tell you how many square feet the gallon will cover. You might have put it on too heavy or went too far. Yes, do another coat.
