I have 6 tatts. Only one of mine is always visible..high on the back of my neck below my hairline (I have short hair). I work in law enforcement and have never had an issue with the tatt. I have also worked in several other positions putting me in direct contact with the public. I have not had any problems getting a job or with acceptance in the community. When I go in for interviews, I wear a shirt with a collar (not that it hides all of it). That is about the only thing I change as far as my attire goes. I think the design of the tattoo is the most important thing if it is visible. If it is tasteful, it will most likely be accepted. If not, then you might not have a job.

I have six, I picked the places to put them so that I can get a professional job. Some people treat me a lil different if they see them, but who cares, I didn't get the tattoos for them. It only affects the way I dress when I go to work, but again, I planned where I wanted them so I was my choice and I am ok with it.

I have 6 tats. The most visible is the one behind my right ear. I have 2 on my legs (one on the outside of each knee) which are also sometimes visible at work. I have another on the top of my back and another on the lower back... but of which pop out to say hello when I wear certain clothes. I hold a high-profile job in silicon valley working in the electronics industry. I have customer meetings daily. I try not to show these in customer meetings (unless they're a cool and hip group).
My boyfriend is fully sleeved on both arms and has work done on both legs. When we go out into public together only 1 in a million people look at us like we're crazy. He wears a long sleeve button up shirt to work everyday. It took his boss a long time to discover how many tats he had. They don't mind if he wears short sleeves now, he just keeps a long sleeve shirt at work in case a customer comes in!
At work, no one here minds. I work with a large Asian population. Since tats are fairly popular in some asian cultures they don't mind.
Just remember to keep it professional as much as possible and no one is the wiser.
Of course tats will have an influence on how you dress. Some days you will want to show it off and some days you will need to hide it. It isn't very professional to show up with visible tats at an interview.

It all depends…. Some men think tattoos on female looks cool/cute… some me don’t, it all depends! I don’t have a tattoo and not planning on getting one either. Tattoos are just not for me. My husband also has tattoos (never bothers me), but tells me- he wouldn’t want to be with someone who has one. Now, isn’t that something? LOL!
If you really would like to have one, make sure that they are not too visible… like on your face, hands, shoulder (if you want to wear sleeveless at work)…. I guess what I’m trying to say is… don’t worry about what others think. It’s your life and you can do what you want to do with it because frankly—life is too short to worry about what others think of you… =)

Sometimes. I cant wear some things without my tats completely throwing my outfit off. Depending on what Im wearing. If Im going for a cute professional office look it doesnt work. I have my sons names on my shoulders but I dont regret it. But it is very noticeable.

i have one tattoo, on my lower back...personally, i luv it, & plan on getting at least 2 more this year!!! as far as what other people think, i`m really not concerned...it`s no one`s business but mine how i choose to decorate my body...but i have to admit, i luv showing it off, so i tend to wear low-rise jeans & skirts that sit low on my hips so people can get a good look!!!
