im 5 months pregnant and i started to relize i have been having problems with my teeth lately, a few seem to be a very little bit loose, and want to start taking more calcium. are the vitamins ok, and will they help staigten my teeth during pregancy??

Yes, the pull on your calcium during pregnancy is great. You should be on prenatal vitamins already, but definitely make sure you are getting 1200 mg per day of calcium (600 in the morning, 600 at night) and keep those teeth brushed and flossed!

As dental assistant i say ask your doctor for a specific OTC vitamin or Tums is what they had me take. i can tell you that being pregnant cause more saliva and more grems in your mouth which of course causes more cavities, in addition to the calcium issue. However loosening of your teeth is a new 1 on me. The best thing you can do is go to your dentist for a routine cleaning. Explain to them you are pregnant so the proper precausions can be taken and exactly what your concern is. The dentist will tell you and do all he can while you are pregnant and finish the rest when you can.
