emo is shortened for "EMOtional" it's a term used to describe the ever so popular clique of drama lovers. Not drama like acting, drama like "oh my boyfriend broke my heart now I'll break my neck" type of thing. A lot of these kids are stereotyped into being rich, spoiled brats who in essence have nothing to cry about, but anyone can be emo. It's ridiculous how labeled teens have made each other.

It's a subcultural group that stemmed from a branch of punk called "emotional hardcore." Somehow over the past 20+ years, the more mellow emo kids from that time evolved (or unevolved lol) into whiney little brats that shop at Hot Topic, wear insanely tight jeans, eyeliner/guyliner, most guys are bisexual, a lot of it's more related to fashion than to music, blahblahblah. Look up emo on google, read through the stuff on wikipedia about it.
