The important thing is to eat healthy and exercise. You can do both during pregnancy and while you may not lose weight, it may curb you gaining it.
You can do aerobics, swimming, even running during pregnancy if you are comfortable with it. And just make sure you get the number of calories recommended (approximately 2500 per day during pregnancy.).
Don't watch the numbers on the scale - if you do the above, you will feel better and your baby will be healthy. Good for you for wanting to be in good shape for your baby.

Absolutely Not! You need to gain at least 15lbs during pregnancy for your baby to be healthy. The weight will come off fast enough if you breastfeed, eat right and exercise after the baby is six weeks old. Losing weight is really bad for the baby. Talk with your doctor about exercising while pregnant and you may be able to build some muscle mass in the early parts of the pregnancy but you cannot lose weight.

Nope, just eat right and eat enough w/o overeating (so you don't just keep packing on unnecessary lbs). Sometimes overweight women lose weight in the beginning and end up only gaining 10 or 15 lbs. Just remember to not let self consciousness or unmet goals affect your health while pregnant. If you wanted to lose weight, instead of losing it now, just focus on good eating habits that you'll need not only for nutrition but for when you try to get fit after you give birth. Remember, it's not getting fat, it's getting pregnant! :-) Oh, and if you want to start an exercise routine that you didn't before it's ok to start one now but as long as you keep it moderate. This will build exercise habits (like eating habits) that will help you kick in to gear after you give birth.

Oh, dear. Honey, you need to gain weight in order for your child to gain weight. If you are overweight before you get pregnant, you only need to gain about 15 pounds during your pregnancy for your baby to be healthy. Don't think about yourself right now. You have someone else depending on you to do the right thing. Eat a lot of lean protein, fruits and veggies. Don't forget some dairy. Try walking every day.

Nope, now is not the time to lose weight. Just eat healthy while pregnant and then plan to lose it after baby is here.

You are right about the dieting part. Try to sign up for some classes at a local gym. They might have ones just for women who are pregnant! Or try to do less vigorous excersice than you normally would. Like take a walk around your neighborhood or something! Be creative and think of some other good ways! Hope I helped! Good Luck!

Take it from someone that has been there.. DO NOT DIET!
being pregnant increases your metabolism.... it's a WONDERFUL thing... Eat healthy... and walk alot.. not running.. just walking.. stretching.. nothing strenuous....
I was over weight with each of pregnancy BEFORE getting pregnant.. and came home wearing a size smaller than when I started by eating well.. and walking. .the walking made delivery much easier... I was not able to gain much weight during the pregnancy.. and it was NOT for lack of trying.... I gained 12 pounds with my first child... 13 with my second.. and stayed EVEN with my third... and came home 30 pounds lighter EACH time...
Please Please Please... for the health of that little one.. do not diet.. just eat healthy.. and many small meals rather than 3 large ones.. it's better for you and for baby!

Ask your dr to refer you to a dietician covered by your healthcare plan(they all have one) You shouldn't try to lose weight, but there are things you can do to minimize the gain such as strictly monitoring your food and getting exercise. Exrtra weight will have to wait til after baby is born.

As PDXmommy said, gaining only 15-20 pounds during your pregnancy is your best bet. Talk to your doctor, who might refer you to a nutritionist who can help you make healthy pregnancy eating choices. Breastfeeding the baby burns lots of calories, and is a good choice to get back in shape more quickly.
