Why are black people so poor?

I'm not saying every black person is poor, but if you drive into Minneapolis you will see them on the street begging for money. I see white people begging too but it seems like 90% of the time it's black people.

When you say drive into Minneapolis- can I assume you don't actually live in Minneapolis?
Maybe you just don't notice the ones begging when they aren't black. Take a better look. There are way more white people begging for money than black people, and besides that, there are other groups like native americans begging for money too.
And about black people being poor, the average income is right around the same level as mexicans, asians, etc.

Because after slavery ended "white people" had to find a way to get "black people back to Africa." Which is why that's a racist term to tell an African-American. Also, I see poor people of ANY race. People are just using a FEW blacks they've seen to make it seem like it's all black people. SMDH! Also, after slavery, blacks were kept under white supremacy which prevented them from getting proper education, employment, transportation, and a way to have a higher standpoint in America. It was a time when blacks were not equal by the law. They had to fight for their rights. By preventing blacks from getting a better position in America, it was easier than just getting them back to Africa. These are many reasons why black countries are poor- the European ancestors, dear. Honey, it was cause white people in the past getting the advantage. This is not to blame all white people, but this is why blacks have a lower standpoint right to this very day. If you go to a college, you can find educated beautiful black women who are kind, wealthy or middle class. Race should not STILL be an issue. SO WTF FO AND STFU QBR, QBS!

Well I am mixed with black and Mexican, but I live in a black family. I believe the root of unseccesful African-americans has to be there education. Most blacks at school constantly argue with teachers, or always suspended from school for behavior problems. Then they will get bad grades and wonder why no college will except them. I'm not saying all of them are like that. I have honors and accelerated classes and I currently attend a magnet highschool. So yeah basically it all starts in school, and where they were raised from.

I live in Mobile, Al. We have our share of poor-black and white. We do have more white that are well to do, than blacks it seems. However, we have many blacks living in $300,000+ homes. That is a lot of money in the south. The average home locally is less than $100k.

It's sad anyone begs for money, assuming they would work if they could. I imagine some people would rather beg, but not many. Life has caused them to be there.

A combination of institutional racism and capitalism. Capitalism, race aside, doesn't give much opportunity to the very poor, so they stay poor.

Institutional racism creates systems which although not explicitly racist, tend to create favorable conditions for one group of people versus another. E.g. social security, housing issues, eminent domain, higher rents in poor neighborhoods, etc.

And yes, there's also a culture that is being exploited by capitalism that markets garbage to minorities (rims, bling, Nike, etc).

Well in Gainesville,Fla 99.2% of bums " literally", are white. And people are rich some poor so dont say why are black people so poor!
