Yes, it sure is! Of course, I don't really have a problem being my silly self anywhere. But I can be silly *and* naked at home. ;)

A safe haven yes but I am myself with ,and accepted by, everyone I know.

NOW it is ... wasn't so for many years ... I worked very hard all my life, and my EARNINGS paid for MY HOME -- and it was not a 'safe haven' or desireable place to be with the ex (from the short disaster of a marriage) or ... having to deal with the nastiness of hormonal raging teens/young adults while they were still living in MY HOME (and yes, they were nasty to ME, the ONLY income source -- forgetting all the manners and politeness and respect for the ONE who was IT as far as providing for the family -- me!).
So now .. as an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree ... It is DEFINITELY a 'safe haven' for me ... I LOVE being in MY OWN HOME that I own .. and yes, it is MINE. I enjoy being a SINGLE .. and even though I have a lot of things to do to repair it from the damages of the ex and the children (and yes, the ex did burglarize my home in August 2006 with the willing help of an Adult Child) ... I AM making it MY Comfort spot at this time (and yes, I AM doing the renovations MYSELF! -- Yes, the Building, the Tiling, the removal of the Wall-to-wall carpeting, the removal of the wallpaper and popcorn ceilings, etc etc etc -- I've even customized closets myself too!).

My brother-in-law lives with us.....so, I can't come out of the bathroom naked if I want to. My husband and I don't have a lot of alone time. I do feel safe though......
