i do, and i do what worked when i was. i accept they have a problem, tell them i don't want to be involved with them while they are under the affects of their problem, and give them the space and time to figure out what to do on their own.
As long as people interfere with those suffering drug problems, you're encouraging them to come up with more reasons to keep doing drugs.

This is a problem beyond your control. An addict cannot be helped until they acknowledge that they have a problem. No amount of begging, pleading, bribing and promising will make them change.
All you can do is find a support group for yourself. The most important thing is to keep communication open with this person and their family. Don't be an enabler and discourage others from doing it too.

I do and I told them they needed to get help because they were destroying their childrens lives and this individual said "In order to get help you haft to want help and I don't want help" So I still gave them some numbers of free recovery centers but this individual never used them.
