nope. best liar I know can look you right in the eyes and tell a real whopper. I think she believes them herself.
also, as a guy.. we tend not to make as much eye contact, especially w/ other guys. I would say that I pay more attention to tone of voice and body language, although mostly I usually just trust people.
lol ... 'soft touch' .. you got me.

I'm always able to look someone straight in the eyes when I mean what I say, but that doesn't mean someone else isn't being honest with you if they can't. It really depends upon the situation at the time and the sensitivity of the person you're talking to on certain subjects. What might be a "piece of cake" to handle for some personalities (right in the eyes), might be a" death sentence" for others who look down, and away from any eye contact. This doesn't necessarily mean their liers. It's really more of a gut feeling that you get if you think your being lied to."Something" just doesn't feel right, and you know it.....you should believe in yourself, not in the eye contact.

I don't believe that totally but some eye contact is good for a conversation. One time I took a lie detector test three times for fun with a seasoned police investigator and he said I was lying when I was telling the truth so don't judge a book by it's cover. Also, when you are looking away it usually means you are searching a part of your mind for the thought you want to convey. It doesn't mean you are lying.

i feel so weird when a person wont look me in the eyes. its like hello we are talking and having a convo why wont you look at me? its weird and i think the person is either really insecure or isnt sure of what they are saying. i dont know. i know people can lie to you looking you in the eye but thers always tell tale signs of liars...no one can lie w/o some even minute movement that shows their lying (saw a whole documentary on this). i look people in the eyes and most everyone ive ever met does as well. its good manners. would you be on a job interview and never look the person in the eye?

Some people aren't very smart. It is easy to see if somebody is lying to you if you know their habits. Of course some people are compulsive liars, eventually it catches up with them. I am not a very good liar but then again I am not exactly looking in your eyes.

Doesn't matter when I'm truthful or lying, cause I look right between the eyes.

not exactly. most people. when they lie, tend to have what "profilers" call a "tell" or "tell sign" (or at least, that's what i think they call it, anyways.)
this tell is a mannerism a person develops over time that he unconsciously executes whenever he tells a lie. it could be scratching hi ear, moistening his lips, blinking too much, twisting his hands, etc. it can be anything.
now, for "experienced" liars, they could be using eye contact with the person they are lying to in order to distract them from catching their tell.

I am a very honest person, and I don't like looking people in the eyes because often when I do, they shift their weight and look uncomforatable and I seem to scare them/make them nervous. Hmmm....well, well...maybe that's because they're usually liars themselves.
